As Vice President and General Counsel, Dr. Benjamin Leuchten plays a key role at the intersection of legal affairs, investment, and business strategy. In addition to having overall responsibility for all legal matters of the ECCO GROUP and its portfolio companies, he is actively involved in the commercial steering and execution of the ECCO GROUP’s investment strategy.
Benjamin has many years of experience at leading international law firms with a focus on Private Equity and M&A and, prior to joining the ECCO GROUP, served as General Counsel of a pan-European private equity firm. He brings this expertise to the structured and commercially driven implementation of the ECCO GROUP’s business strategy. He supports all phases of the investment cycle – from fund structuring and acquisitions to financings, add-on transactions, and exits – always with a focus on pragmatic, value-creating solutions that effectively manage legal risks while enabling entrepreneurial decision-making.
As a close sparring partner to the investment team and senior management, Benjamin combines legal excellence with a strong commercial mindset. Legal issues are not addressed in isolation, but are consistently embedded within the economic and strategic context of each investment decision.
